What Locals Say about Dunes City

  • Rhett W.
"We have bbq and go swimming at community dock grew up building forts and playing around block riding bikes. So as family friends and neighbors we would have pot lucks and support each other as much as we could."
  • Marcella
"It’s a beautiful area that is clean and low crime.. homes and landscapes are well taken care of. It’s a wonderful place to live!"
  • Denise97439
"Rural. Private. Quiet. Bears, deer and other wildlife. Bald eggless, osprey, hawks. Here for 12 years. No public transportation. For a single person it’s difficult being so isolated even 6 miles from town. There is no help for you. Sheriff are 70 miles away. It’s you and your gun and if you have a dog. "
  • Sillywhispers
"Dunes City is a rural community in a temperate rainforest. Lots are at least one acre in size or there is a variance. Before density increased my nearest neighbor was a half a mile from me and I knew almost everyone living in the area. Now, I know very few of my neighbors. I don't need to "keep up the front lawn" because it is mostly native vegetation that takes care of itself. If you plan to move here, buy a boat so you can enjoy being out on all of the lakes. It would be a shame to live out here and not be able to do that."
  • Denise97439
"Isolated on oregon coast... yet 6 miles from groceries and hospital services banking, shopping, coastal tourist town in summer. 90 minute drive to Costco in Eugene however. "
